The Department of Geography & Environmental Engineering offers some of the best undergraduate facilities in the country for the study of Geography, Environmental Engineering & Science, and Geospatial Information Science. Students desiring to complete a baseline program have five majors from which to choose. Human Geography, Environmental Geography, Environmental Science, and Geospatial Information Science are ten course majors with the option to pursue an honors program. The Environmental Engineering major is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org and comprised of eighteen courses. Each major and every course offering will help to develop you as a self-learner, problem solver and critical thinker, all of which are critical attributes for success as a future leader in the Army. Our majors provide depth in several of the many important areas of study in the geographic, geospatial, and environmental sciences and will open the door to future opportunities in these fields. The instruction is current, accurate, and relevant, but perhaps best of all, engaging. The Department also offers an extremely popular, three-course Environmental Engineering sequence that is available to all non-engineering majors who are required to select a CES as part of the curriculum. The department has a wide range of opportunities, as evidenced by five distinct majors within four separate disciplines. A dominant theme, however, that serves as a thread of continuity for the Department is understanding how people interact with, affect, and are affected by their natural environment.
