The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) is a learning community dedicated to the education of cadets. Our faculty and staff are a diverse group of the friendliest, most competent and energetic people you will ever meet. Our courses are current, relevant, and challenging. Our laboratories are fully equipped and carefully maintained. Graduates of our nationally accredited programs can rightly claim that their undergraduate background ranks among the very best. Our department empowers cadets to design, build and test state-of-the-art engineering and technology systems. EECS offers majors in Computer Science, Cyber Science, and Electrical Engineering. The Computer Science major is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, and the Electrical Engineering major is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org. Additionally, the department offers the Electronic and Information Technology Systems (EITS) major for those cadets who desire more flexibility in their curriculum. EECS also offers three-course engineering sequences in cyber engineering and electrical engineering. EECS also offers minors in Cyber Security, Photonics, and Robotics that are accessible to cadets majoring in any discipline at West Point.
