The Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering provides a program of engineering study which emphasizes creative problem solving and hands-on engineering design in the fields of civil and mechanical engineering. The Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering (C&ME) offers majors in both Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. These programs are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org. Both emphasize engineering science fundamentals, creative problem solving, and hands-on engineering design in order to develop students' understanding of the practical applications of science essential for officers in our modern, high-technology Army. C&ME also offers a three-course core engineering sequences in "Infrastructure Engineering" (CE) and a minor in Aeronautical Engineering.
