SCOPE
While the violent, interactive, and fundamentally political nature of war remains unchanged, the character of war has evolved over time and the pace of change appears to be accelerating. Among various other responsibilities related to studying and directing war, military professionals prepare the institution for future challenges by analyzing current and emerging trends to discern how the character of war is changing and will continue to change. This course introduces cadets to the study of future war through rigorous analysis of various theories of future war, current and emerging trends in the international environment and the defense and security communities, and emerging technologies. **This course will be taught as a pilot in AY26-1 and AY27-1. It must be reviewed by the Curriculum Committee NLT AY27-2 to continue.**
