This introductory course prepares students who will participate in the International Affairs capstone Senior Project in the following term. It familiarizes cadets with the research procedures, techniques, and topics for future study, undertaken in support of an outside client. The scope of the course depends on the needs of the project and the needs of the cadets, as determined by the faculty advisor (course director). In general, cadets will select topics, form teams, meet with the client, and begin the research process. Grades will be determined through individual and group assignments, including class participation, response papers, and research building-block assignments. The outcome of the course is a research design that forms the basis for the cadet team's research paper for the client |
