This course examines individual development and the forces that shape human growth from birth to late life, including death, and bereavement. Cadets will explore development through multiple theoretical perspectives, emphasizing physical, cognitive, and socioemotional changes across the lifespan. Topics include moral development, self-concept, identity formation, and the influence of family and society. Special attention is given to the application of developmental principles in military contexts, preparing cadets to understand and lead individuals from various backgrounds, foster resilience, and support the well-being of those under their command throughout their military careers. | |||||||||

In addition, cadets will discuss such topics as cognitive and moral development, how our self-concept and sense of identity form, and the influence of family and the world around us on development.
