SCOPE
MS350 is a survey communication course that applies communication theory and concepts to military settings and situations. The course develops interpersonal and organizational communication skills. Cadets study how a broad range of communication theories relate to a variety of military situations. Upon successful completion of the course, cadets will have a basic understanding of several key communication theories and be able to apply these theories and their newly developed communication skills as junior leaders in the Army. This class teaches that which is essential for every leader - the ability to communicate.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Five graded presentations (2 X Informative, 2 X Persuasive, Ceremonial). 1 trip section to NYC to FOX/CBS News. Ungraded impromptu and extemporaneous speeches are done on a daily basis.

SCOPE
This course develops and further refines a cadet's ability to communicate as a leader in today's armed forces. The cadet will put what is learned into practice through a series of speeches progressing in both length and difficulty. All presentations are videotaped for use in critiquing each cadet's performance. The course is focused around delivery skills, organizational skills, audience adaptation, critical thinking and effective listening. Guest lecturers, previous MS 350 cadet presentations, and web-based threaded discussions are also used as vehicles for learning. This class teaches that which is essential for every leader - the ability to communicate.
