SCOPE
This course provides cadets with the foundation of military and tactical knowledge necessary for future field training and development in subsequent military science courses. Cadets will gain a solid foundation built on basic Army concepts such as Shoot, Move, and Communicate. Cadets will also learn fundamental Army unit organizations, capabilities and missions, and develop an understanding of the roles of NCOs and Officers. Cadets who have successfully completed MS100, will understand their role as Soldiers and will be well prepared as they transition from follower to leader during the next chapter of their military education, Cadet Field Training.

SCOPE
This course provides cadets with the foundation of military and tactical knowledge necessary for future field training and development in subsequent military science courses. Cadets learn fundamental Army unit organizations, capabilities and missions as well as an understanding of the roles of NCOs and Officers. Cadets gain an understanding of the principles of war, Troop Leading Procedures, the orders process, map reading, and capabilities and effects of squad level weapon systems. The course emphasizes tactical planning and communication of plans using common operational terms and graphics in order to build tactical problem solving skills at the small unit level. Cadets who have successfully completed MS100, will understand their role as Soldiers and will have demonstrated the ability to function effectively as a member of a Squad.

MS100 INTRODUCTION TO WARFIGHTING 2008 2 Military Instruction 1.5 (BS=0.0, ET=0.0, MA=0.0)
SCOPE
This course is designed to provide cadets a foundation of military and tactical knowledge necessary for application during Cadet Field Training (CFT) and implementation in a future career as an Army Officer. Tactical instruction includes map reading and military analysis through an introduction to the military planning considerations of Mission, Enemy, Terrain, Troops, Time, and Civil considerations (METT-TC). Additionally, the instruction covers the Troop Leading Procedures (TLP), Pre-Combat Inspections (PCI), Squad Formations and Basic Squad Movement Techniques. Cadets are introduced to the Warning Order and Operations Order, and extract information needed for a squad operations order. These skills are applied in the analysis of basic tactical situations in order to reinforce basic understanding.
