This is the second semester of the mathematics core curriculum. MA104 covers topics in single variable differential and integral calculus, parametric equations, 3dimensional geometry, and vectors. Throughout the course, mathematical models motivate the study of topics such as optimization, accumulation, change in one variable, motion in space, 1st order differential equations, and other topics from the natural, social, and decision sciences. An understanding of course material is enhanced through the use of computer algebra systems.

MA104 covers the differential calculus, the integral calculus of a single variable, and differential equations. MA205 investigates parametric equations and the study of multivariable calculus including 3dimensional geometry and vectors, functions of two variables, partial derivatives, and multiple integrals. MA205 culminates with an introduction to the mathematics most applicable to each cadet's major or engineering stem. In each course, an understanding of course material is enhanced through the use of computer algebra systems and a graphing calculator.
