The course guides the student to conduct intensive study in a legal subject area for which the cadet has a special interest. Each student enrolled in the course will work with a designated member of the Law faculty to develop and pursue a specific research topic. The course will be conducted in three phases, followed by a formal presentation. In the first phase, the student will work with the faculty advisor to develop a research topic, and plan a research strategy. Students in the second phase will conduct research under the guidance of the faculty member. In the third phase the student will document the research he or she has completed in a paper and refine the paper through a draft/review process with the faculty member. The final phase requires an oral presentation and defense of the research. |
