| This course is designed to build reading and writing proficiency for cadets who have pre-West Point proficiency in spoken Chinese but lack reading and writing proficiency in the language. In addition to building literacy, this course and the subsequent LC254 will focus on standardizing cadet pronunciation, increasing vocabulary, and teaching more variety of sentence patterns. LC253/LC254 use an open architecture curricular design format with modules and flexible sequencing to address the specific writing and reading needs of the cadets who enter the Chinese program with various levels of proficiency. **This is a pilot course that will need approval by the Curriculum Committee NLT AY23.** |
