| In this course cadets gain basic competence in the knowledge and comprehension of representative literary works and their relationship to the cultural context of the target society. Selected examples of various literary genres are read, discussed, and analyzed. At the same time, cadets continue to develop greater proficiency in the target language. Video and film presentations supplement readings, where possible. Graded work may include giving oral presentations, writing short essays, or preparing a term paper.
