This course will examine the evolution of generalship and command in the context of the history of warfare. The course begins with an examination of the concepts of generalship and command and then explores case studies of successful and unsuccessful leadership from antiquity to the present, with a focus on the 20th century. In addition to leadership, other dimensions of generalship and command--managerial, logistic, advisory, technical, and diplomatic--are addressed in the scope of the study. | |||||||||
