| This is the gateway course to the English major. It introduces Cadets to the methods and critical vocabularies foundational to the mature study of literature and to continued professional growth. Through deep and sustained attention to core primary texts and associated criticism, Cadets learn the essential skills of literary analysis: evaluating sources, marshalling evidence, analyzing texts, responding to contexts, and crafting arguments.
