This course is the first in the senior-level sequence dealing with computer information and software systems. Its purpose is to prepare cadets for a coherent engineering design and implementation experience. Conceptual material stresses problem solving strategies applied to the design and implementation of computer information and/or computer software systems. Hierarchical abstractions, data modeling, and user interface issues are examined and integrated with a study of the information system and software life cycle, requirements specifications, and verification and validation issues.
