SCOPE
This computer technology course provides a practical, hands-on, breadth-first approach to computer and information systems. It provides an introduction to topics such as computer hardware, networks, multimedia, graphics, world wide web usage, security/privacy, benchmarking, information systems, automated decision support systems, artificial intelligence, information retrieval, and ethical considerations concerning the use of technology. The course focuses on the performance analysis of computer systems and on computer components that affect performance. (Note: replaced by IS383 Fundamentals of Information Systems eff 2004-1)
