SCOPE
This course expands upon the concepts learned in CH473,Biochemistry. The course will cover the structure and function of living cells at the molecular level. Prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells will be studied to include a detailed discussion on: gene structure, expression, and replication; organelle biogenesis; cell-to-cell signaling, and microtubules and filaments. Emphasis will be placed on research methods and techniques that have lead to our understanding of how the cell works. The course will conclude with a discussion of cancer and immunity at the molecular level.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
A research paper covering any aspect of molecular biology is required.
