Studies the effects of chemical kinetics on systems of engineering significance. Introduces selection and operation of commercial chemical reactors, emphasizing synthesis of chemical kinetics and transport phenomena. Discusses application to real process design problems, with case studies in chemical and petrochemical applications. Topics: kinetics and equilibrium; ideal reactor; transport in reactors; reactor design. Emphasizes conception and invention of processes to specify the optimum reactor and appropriate operation conditions. (Change course # to CH364 effective 2004-2)
